Today’s Strands answers

NYT Strands #975 for Tuesday, November 3, 2026: the theme clue is “I've got a song in my heart”, and the puzzle hides five theme words and a spangram, 6 to 9 letters long. Each word’s hint stays hidden above until you ask.

How Strands works

Strands is a word search on a board of 48 letters, six across and eight down. A theme clue tells you what the hidden words have in common. Join letters that touch, in any direction including diagonals, to spell a word. Every letter on the board is used once, in one theme word or in the spangram.

The spangram is the special word. It describes the theme and runs from one side of the board to the opposite side, and it is the only word that does. Words you find that are not theme words do not count as answers; find enough of them and the game gives you a hint.

How to use this page

The theme is shown at the top, because it is the game’s own clue. Under it is a hint card for the spangram and for each theme word. A hint says how many letters the word has and which letter it begins with. Show the word names it, in yellow for the spangram and blue for a theme word.

If you are only after the answers, choose Show every answer. The words are the game’s own, so you can check each one against your board.

Finding the spangram first

Because the spangram links two opposite sides, it is a good place to start: look for a long word that could describe the theme and that crosses the board. Once it is fixed, the theme words fill in the pieces left on each side of it, and a wrong guess at the spangram usually leaves letters that cannot make words.
